The young producer and DJ Pim van Horssen started producing and playing at the age of 16 and by time he was 19 he had already played in parties and clubs all over Europe and Brazil. The highlight of his previous project “Rebelix” was in the winter of 2007 when he played on the 1st of January on Brazil’s biggest new years dance festival: Universo Paralello.
This was a turning point for Pim’s musical career, after having produced anything from Electro to Progressive to Chillout Pim really got infected with the new techno sound that has been going around. He started his project: SQL
After having released more than 15 EP’s and CD’s past year, and with an impressive release schedule ahead on well-respected labels like Baroque, SK Supreme, BEEF, and Tribal Vision 2009 proved to be a great year for SQL. And with support from names like Armin van Buuren, Derek Howell, Andy Newland for his first release “Lactose EP” that comes as no surprise.
His current release “Distorted Reality” released on SK Supreme has had some major success over the last few months it has been nr.1 on the Beatport minimal top 100 for weeks and has been played and charted by none other than Richie Hawtin and Marco Carola. The release is so successfull that it will be re-released on vinyl later this year. This suddenly breaktrough in Pim’s career has placed SQL on the map and brought many new oppertunities.
Furthermore Pim was asked to remix Moonbeam for the prestigious label: BEEF and MBF requested his production skills for the well-known minimal act: Piemont. Also in the pipeline is Pim’s first EP for Low Battery: Sweet Sativa, with a smashing remix by Sabb this is bound to be another hit!
His collaboration with Tom Real will also be one to remember, as it will be released on SK Supreme just before the end of the summer. And SQL’s second release on Tribal Vision featuring release by: Alter Breed, Diogo Riberao and Solips will surely be a great success.
Having said all this shows that SQL will surely be a name to remember!
