There is always room for improvement

This time at the parties. [Update 05.06.]

The entry of a party here consists of the event information and other content such as photos, meeting points, party reports and the "People" list.

Each of these areas is shown on a separate page and has also been loaded as a completely new, separate (PHP) page. So with the top page header and party header, side info blocks, the bottom footer, etc., the page is loaded as a completely new page. This is more than necessary.

With the latest update, only the relevant content areas are loaded without having to rebuild the entire page. Clicking/tapping between Details, Report, Meeting, Photos and "People" has thus become faster by at least a factor of 5, and the flickering caused by reloading the page has also disappeared. The "classic" view of the individual party photos has also been optimised accordingly.

Furthermore, the internal page navigation has been improved, which now jumps directly to the previously accessed page and also makes the empty browser back actions disappear.

As an aside, the German date format used here, which used the month as an abbreviation, has been changed to the more commonly used two-digit format. So instead of "1 Jun 23" it is now "01.06.23".

And one more thing:

In the calendar on the start page, there was still the effect that some days were clickable, but then no events were shown for that day. That works now, too.

Some work has been done on the info windows that open. In some places there were wrong sizes or suboptimal positions.

The option for the classic menu was removed. Maintaining the additional code for only a few visitors who use it is too much work in the long run.

[Update 05.06.]

  • The calendar of the current month now appears on the right (desktop) or at the bottom (mobile) of every page, foldable in and out under "Party News". The listing of events there is now identical to that at Upcoming Events. However, only the parties of the respective starting day are shown there and no longer all those that are running on that day but may have started earlier (please feel free to give feedback here as well, as this is a change of a long "tradition").
  • There were still a few bugs on 04.06., which were fixed during the day.

As always, I hope you have fun exploring. If you have any questions / criticism, just write here or personally.
