Dear Organisers,
To start with: Everything about it is better :)
You can either find out all about it by trying it and / or by reading the details here.
The improvements have mostly to do with the geolocation and area search function that now automaticly starts when you enter a city or town name. Just try it on top of the page in the new search field.
For the area search function to work you need the latitude and longitude coordinates or it wont be found. Often just entering the location name doesnt work because sometimes people make type errors or because of the wrong spelling.
Up untill now you always got a map when you entered the geolocation. From now on you have the option to decide wether the map is visible or not. That has the advantage that the party can be found with the area search without showing a map. For example you can choose a city center. The map doesnt have to be shown.
What we did:
Only 30 % of the partys had a geolocation and because of that up to 70 % were hard to find if you searched for a town name. We found most of them automaticly and added the city name geolocation (map disabled). Now people can enter the town name and this parties will be found also.
That worked for every party that doesnt uses exotic place names. At the moment there are only 215 partys that can't be found via geolocation because of that exotic names.
Another reason for the less use of the geolocation could be the bad usuability during the party submission. When you entered coordinates the map wasn't checkable.
Now when the latitude / longitude coordinates are entered you will see 'Map OK?'. You can click on it to see if the map and coordinates are right.
Just try it and see what happens, you dont have to save it :)
