Refract are Sinan Yavuzcan & Pascal Bourguignon from the north west of Switzerland.
Sinans musical background started in the nineties while playing guitar in several hardcore punk bands. In 1999 he had his first encounters with the psychedelic scene which quite turned him on resulting in the first dj gigs in 2003. Being a resident on many events within Switzerland, his talent received soon attention in other countries, resulting in dj gigs in Marocco, Tunesia, Austria and Germany. In 2005 he started producing his own tunes – the chosen name was Sensual Squeak. Hooking up with Woodroom Records from Switzerland opened new doors for the talented musican to get in contact with many other great producers like Pascal Bourguignon, as well from Switzerland.
Pascal musical background was somehow analog: playing bass and djembe in different reggae bands led soon to the discovery of the electronic psy trance music in the nineties. Becoming addicted to the vibe, Pascal started to produce his own interpretation of trance quite soon, mainly analog at this time. Getting known to Sinan in 2005, the guys immediately felt that there is a connection going on between them which simply had to result in the teaming up for a new project.
This new project, Refract was finally born in 2009 and since this moment they already proved that they are more then just the sum of their parts. Refract is a bomb for night time oriented dancefloors ready to welcome the new morning. Full On baselines go along with psychedelic mind-altering effects, groove hits in accompagnied with beautiful melodies – the result is something you have to have a listen. In 2010 this dynamic duo signed with BMSS Records willing to spread their vibe as far as possible. Watch out and be prepared for the upcoming releases...
